The Pope's Visit
I went to Hyde Park on Saturday and I saw the Pope. It was a fantastic experience. We saw the Pope in the Popemobile, it's a strange looking car. I had a great time and I shook his hand too.

On Saturday I went to Hyde Park Corner with my mum, my dad and my older brother. It took 3 hours until the Pope arrived. When he finally arrived, the big TV cameras turned up and he waved at me. After that, I went around and watched him in the Mass on the big TV screen. After that, it took 2 hours to get back home and we got back home at 10 o'clock. It felt fantastic and very extradionary to see the Pope.

The Big Assembly
On Friday 17th September we all gathered in the school hall to join the Pope at the Big Assembly in St Mary's University College, Twickenham. This special occasion involved over 3000 young people from every Diocese in the UK. Reanna, our Head Girl was chosen to represent our school as part of the Diocese of Brentwood. Reanna will share her experience with us next week on our blog site.

Summer Holidays
Year 6 Leaver's Mass
We finished our year with a very special Year 6 Leaver's Mass. Father Adam and a special visitor Father Luke celebrated Mass with the whole school and parents. It was a very emotional mass as the Year 6 pupils said their final farewell to St Aidan's. The children received a commerative Mass card from Mrs Brown.
We wish all the children in Year 6 good luck in their new schools when they start in September.
Star Pupil of the Year
Congratulations to the children who received Star Pupil of the Year.

Year 6 Leaver's Assembly
What an emotional assembly! The children remembered just a few of their special times here at St Aidan's. They thanked all the adults who have helped them through the years and Mrs Thomas, Mrs Garvan, Mrs Rattigan and Mrs Boland were presented with bouquets of flowers as a show of thanks from the children.
The children continued to celebrate as they went off to Southend for the day.
