Year 6 Leaver's Assembly

What an emotional assembly! The children remembered just a few of their special times here at St Aidan's. They thanked all the adults who have helped them through the years and Mrs Thomas, Mrs Garvan, Mrs Rattigan and Mrs Boland were presented with bouquets of flowers as a show of thanks from the children.
The children continued to celebrate as they went off to Southend for the day.

Year 6 v Teachers Netball Match

The crowd were nervous, the players even more so (especially the staff!). The Year 6's looked confident (they have only lost 1 game this year), the staff loooked - well terrified. But what a match! The Year 6 players were excellent. They marked and passed brilliantly. The teachers worked well and tried their best and after a lead of 2 - 1 at half time, the teachers were becoming more confident. Then Year 6 scored. Then another goal and another. The final score was 4 - 2 to Year 6. Well done to boh the girls and the staff for a excellent display of skills and sportsmanship. We all loved it and can't wait until next year.

International Week

This week the children will be celebrating International Week. Each year group has be allocated 1 country. They will be finding out information about the country, using atlases and the Internet. The children will also be cooking and reading traditional stories.
On Tuesday the children were entertained by Phase 5, a Steel Band. They were amazing and both the staff and the children had a wonderful time listening to the music and dancing along. Year 3 were then invited to practise playing the steel drums. They performed their songs to Years 1, 2 and 4.
